The Daily Mirror has rolled out a mobile site as it bids to become a multi-platform publisher to compete with its rival title The Sun.
The new Mirror Mobile site, first revealed by nma 24 July, is to feature all the news and features from the newspaper and can be personalised by visitors to display the stories most relevant to them.
It’s the first in a series of 12 further mobile sites, which will cover Trinity Mirror’s range of regional titles.
Financial service Mortgage Monitor and gambling site Sportingbet are the launch partner sponsors for the free-to-access site.
The network of sites are to be designed by mobile agency Bluestar Mobile using platform provider Mobile IQ, with ad sales handled by Nokia.
Rick Gleave, head of Trinity Mirror interactive and mobile, said the aim was to grow a new audience for advertisers.
“Each of these brands will have a print title, a companion website and a mobile site, which is further proof that we’re a growing multi-platform media business,” said Gleave.
