Mirror Mobile has passed 1m unique users one year after its launch.

The newspaper’s mobile site has generated 7m page impressions since it launched in October 2008 and has increased its traffic by 30% since May.

It has received traffic from the US, Ghana and Japan as well as the UK, with 40% of users accessing the site on a smartphone. Around 25% of those are iPhone users.

More than 10,000 readers have personalised the site so it shows them relevant sections.

The Mirror revealed the figures ahead of a distribution deal with operator O2. It’s also launching a casino site following an agreement with mobile gaming company Probability.

The site is built by platform provider Mobile IQ, designed by mobile agency Bluestar Mobile and has its ad sales managed internally and by ad sales network 4th Screen Advertising.
