David Frodsham – Chairman
David has a background as serial CEO and entrepreneur having founded, run, bought and sold several companies in Europe and the USA. He founded DIP, a pioneer in PDA technology, in the 1980s. He has held leadership roles in Argogroup, a mobile telecoms test provider; Insignia Solutions, a JVM innovator; Phoenix Technologies, the BIOS company and Psion, the company behind the Symbian platform.
David is a partner in CEO Collaborative Forum, a network of over 100 European growth company leaders, with international businesses and ambitions. He also serves as Chairman of the boards of Wadaro Ltd and Moravia Worldwide.
An enthusiast of entrepreneurial finance, he has published a book on the subject with Professor Heinrich Liechtenstein of IESE, entitled, “Getting Between the Balance Sheets”. David holds a BSc from King’s College, London and an MBA from INSEAD.
Darren Cockburn
Darren Cockburn works in Corporate Development at Channel 4, where he sources, analyses and manages investment and acquisition opportunities.
Prior to Channel 4, Darren worked with the Walt Disney Internet Group (“WDIG”) from 2001 as Director of Strategy and Business Development, Europe and as Special Project Consultant. At Disney, Darren was responsible for managing and developing their mobile content business over several years as well as completing several acquisitions in new media in Europe and Asia.
Darren has also spent several years in investment banking and venture capital roles at Nomura International and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. Darren started his career at Arthur Andersen, where he helped establish the valuation and media consulting practices in their London office.
Darren graduated from Oxford University with a BA (Hons) in Mathematics and also holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was awarded the Haas Prize for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
Shaun Barriball
Shaun has worked in the mobile industry for 10 years having previously worked for Volantis Systems as the Director of Content Services. He has also held senior consulting and engineering positions with IONA Technologies and Oracle respectively.
Shaun has experienced all aspects of the mobile content value chain. Working with operators to develop their service delivery platforms and delivering content to these platforms as on-portal services for a large number of tier 1 content companies. This experience has given Shaun a broad view of the mobile market including the pitfalls, the challenges and the risks. In 2005 Shaun founded Mobile IQ and in just 3 years he has built the company into a leading provider of mobile internet solutions.
Shaun holds a 1st Class Masters degree in Computer Systems and Software Engineering from the University of York. He is based in Basingstoke, UK
Elaine Roberts
Before joining Mobile IQ, Elaine worked on major billing and CRM implementations for operators including O2, BT Europe, BT Wholesale, Dolphin Telecom and ntl. She brings her expertise in business analysis, customer liaison, quality assurance and project management developed during her time as a consultant at Oracle, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, IBM and NTL.
Elaine holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of York.
